A lot of the questions we get for our NCS and Datafeedr service is “Hey Stefan, what can we do in terms of customization?” As a NCS or Datafeedr customer you are able to create highly customized store pages that can serve as a PPC landing page or a page that features some best selling products or reviews just one single product or compares similar products from different merchants. All our stores are now updated with our latest feature. You’re now able to drip feed the datafeed products into blog posts. When activated the blog posts are automatically created at random in an interval that you specify. Plus you can easily change the blog post template and choose what product information to display. The drip feature can be used in combination with the store or just as a “stand- alone application” without displaying a store. Watch the video below to see it in action!

Now you can add multiple products to your WordPress blog posts (see screenshot below) or pages. We’ve included 2 mini-templates that you can use to left align and right align your product within your post. You also can add your own templates. You can also add 1 or more products to HTML modules, product block modules and category listing modules. All is explained in a video that we just added to the members area. We’re proud to announce the launch of our brand new service … Datafeedr.com. Now you can create your own affiliate datafeed store by selecting the merchants and products YOU want. It’s the same system that we use for creating our NCS stores.

The only difference between NCS and Datafeedr is that you’re now able to select the merchants and products yourself and that you can create unlimited WordPress datafeed stores! With the new NCS stores you will be able to create specific store landing pages. You can for example create a special ‘Featured Products’ store page and add any products from your datafeed.

Or create a ‘Bestsellers’ store page and add those top 10 best selling products. Or create a special ‘Holidays’ store page and add those top 10 products for Valentine’s Day or Christmas. Or just create a PPC landing page that reviews one single product or compares similar products from different merchants. The possibilities are really endless here.

The home page of the current NCS stores is displaying a customized store page instead of the usual blog posts. This could not be switched unless changing a lot of code.

In the new upcoming NCS stores you will be able to choose what to display on the home page. Choosing for the usual blog posts or a customized store page will now just take a click of a button.

The new NCS stores will have a sidebar widget available so you can easily drag and drop several store items like a product block, the store’s category menu, a store search form, a list of custom created store pages onto the sidebar without touching ANY html code.

The only requirement is that the theme you use must be “widgetized” or widget ready. This is becoming more and more common so as new themes get developed, they will be more than likely widget ready. Of course you also have the option of just adding code to the theme’s sidebar file.

The current NCS store packages are coming with 2 up to 4 customized WordPress themes. With the current store packages it’s not possible to use WordPress themes other than the included customized themes.

The new upcoming NCS stores will support ANY WordPress theme. Our test stores successfully installed on dozens of themes we tested so far! Of course it will not be possible to test ALL WordPress themes out there. Most themes will do well but in some cases small CSS and theme file modifications may still be necessary.

In any way should you find out about a theme that does not display a store properly don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll do our best to make the necessary theme changes. The fact that almost any WordPress theme is supported means that you’ll have much more options to give your store a unique look. With hundreds of WordPress themes freely available you’ll have plenty of choice.

The current NCS stores only support WordPress version 2.2. That’s also why it was not allowed to install WordPress via Fantastico which is included in many webhost control panels as Fantastico installs most of the time the latest WordPress version.

The new upcoming NCS stores will support the latest WordPress version. This means that you can install WordPress via Fantastico and that you can make use of all the latest WordPress features and plugins!

One of our resolutions for 2008 is to improve our NCS affiliate datafeed stores. One of our goals is to make the installation process easier and give customers more and easier customization options. That’s why we’re working on a new NCS store model. In the next few days we will focus in several blog posts on some of the NEW features. We’ll probably start to offer the NEW NCS stores in February.

While our NCS stores are ready-made affiliate datafeed stores with the merchants chosen for you we’re also working on a new service that will allow you to put together your own affiliate datafeed store. This new service will open its doors soon for the first beta testers. More info about this new service will be posted here too.
